For a gracious hostess.

Happy New Week!

Funny thing about this card.  I was going to give it to my aunt for Thanksgiving as she is hosting it this year.  Then recently she had this brilliant idea that we should all go out for Thanksgiving dinner.  Seriously?  Um…what about leftovers?  Who goes out for Thanksgiving dinner?  That’s just wrong on so many levels.  {No offense if that’s your family tradition – LOL}  I just don’t get it.  I reckon we’ll still make a lil’ turkey and the usual fixin’s for us to have – what’s Thanksgiving without the third-helping hours later, and turkey sammies the next day??  She’s nuts.  OK, that’s not really news.  ANYWAY.  So now I have this fall hostess card and no one to give it to.  Maybe I will give it to our waitress!!

Fantastic card! I agree with you–Thanksgiving at a restaurant–no thank you, Many years ago, for a few years after my FIL’s death, we went out for Thanksgiving– I did not like it at all. Now I host Thanksgiving for my husband’s family. I may not cleaning my house for the gathering, but I love the left overs.

Beautiful card – I so love fall colors and that bling’d leaf is cool! And hey, what, give it a try – you might have fun, maybe a Chinese restaurant, LOL!!! I agree with ya – I’d take a catered thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins before I’d like going to a restaurant. Takes away from the warmth known for this time. Oh and thanks for the posting lead…I think I’m already living by the new blog group rules, lol.

Well, I’m sure the waitress would love this card. I think your aunt might be related to my sister. All the work & headache of making Thanksgiving dinner is totally worth it – you don’t have to cook for a whole week after!

Beautiful card. I’m fascinated by your layered ribbons/lace. I need more stash. LOL
Although the Tday dinner out, would be easy… the lack of leftovers would be painful. I’m hosting this year. I think we’re at 31 guests already… I doubt we will have many leftovers…

I think I’d better rent some more chairs.

Very pretty card! I like the stacked buttons too! I’ve done the TG meal out. When having three toodlers is was the best way at the time. Now we have it at someone’s home. I’d give the card to your aunt IF she is paying for your meal.

I love the layered buttons! My sister hosts Thanksgiving every year… I need to make her a Thank you card!

I think this is gorgeous!!! I just love your leaf on the bottom with the gold edges. So, so very pretty!

Oh I so agree on the Thanksgiving dinner thing. One of the best things about Thanksgiving dinner is the leftovers
Gorgeous card. Love the gold on the edges of the leaf.

Perfectly homey, Thanksgiving-y card! Too bad about the change of plans tho. My family did the go out thing one year, but it just didn’t seem . . . right, so now we buy the fixed meal and serve it like homemade. None of the work, all of the yummy!

Hahaha! We have NEVER spent Thanksgiving with my husband’s family because they go out to eat and it makes my hubs CRAZY! (And let me be clear: their restaurant of choice IS nasty.)

I love all the texture on your card… surely a waitress would appreciate that! 😉

I love these autumn colours and what you’ve done with the leaf. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I can imagine that going out for dinner just isn’t the same!

Love this card! The glittered leaf is just wonderful, and the lace is just the perfect touch!

LOL…going out for Thanksgiving? It’s just not the same! You NEED leftovers! We do dinner at my in-laws, but the day after I cook a smaller version just for us so we can have some.

I love the buttons on this card…assuming you layered several?
