Adventures in couponing, giveaway winners + a new giveaway.

Happy Sunday, Dolls!

So I didn’t post the winners of last week’s giveaway yesterday because I was in mourning.  Boise State.  National title hopes and any chance in to a big bowl game:  gone.  Seriously sad.  All day long.  Today too.  {sigh}

The winners of the Verve Christmas blessings stamp are:  Mary W., Jillie (and not because you begged either ;)), and Yvonne Russell.  Girls, contact me (e-mail button on the sidebar) with your snail mail info and I’ll get these out to you.

GIVEAWAY

This week’s giveaway is this sweet little stamp from Lawn Fawn.

WinterBunny

I really love this stamp – I don’t color images – but I really do {heart} this stamp.  Like it too?  I’ve got 3 of them to give away.  Just leave a comment here and I’ll post winners again next weekend.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program:  oh my word was it ever a hot couponing week at Albertsons!  So many things on sale and with coupons and double coupons, so many good things to take advantage of.  Let’s take a peek at all my scores, shall we?

I’m starting off with the pizza (and faux butter spread) shot because I’ve heard some of you say that you wish you had double coupons where you are.  The pizzas were a good deal without doublers.  The thing about double coupons is that they will only double up to a dollar.  If the coupon is over $1, they will not give any additional discount.  The pizzas were $3.49 on sale for $2.99.  I had $1.50 off each which made them $1.50 which is not the deal of the century.  However, there was also a Catalina offer of when you purchase (4) of them, you get $3 back which made them 74-cents each; not smokin’ hot, but a good price for my husband’s lunch compared to what a lot of people spend on lunches, I think.  The Country Crocks were $2.99 on sale for $2.39, I had $1 off coupons that I doubled making them 39-cents each which is hot.  However making this a deal of the century was a Catalina for when you buy (2), you get $1 back, so they paid me 22-cents to take these off their hands…that was nice of them 😉

I only had (2) coupons for these Nestle premade just pop in the oven cookies and they were $3.89 on sale for $2.50 each.  I had $1 off coupons that were doubled making them 50-cents each.  However, these new ones – chocolate chip with a chocolate filling…for real?!! – had coupons on them (we call them “peelies” in coupon lingo) for $1 off so I got a bunch of those ones for 50-cents as well.  50-cents for a yummy, spontaneous, family dessert in an I-don’t-need-this-at-all kinda way.  Oh hey – I just noticed they say they have 0 trans fat.  I don’t know what that means, but it sure does make it sound healthy.  I might have had one…or 2…or….as I typed this post and I have to say:  I feel skinnier already :).

11_23_10_10

Here’s a lil’ pic I took with my phone so you could see what the peelie on the package looked like.  Keep an eye out for these – they are all over the store…especially on new items.

11_23_10_12

Jimmie Dean.  He was hot.  So is his sausage.  OK wait, that doesn’t sound right.  Anyway….these were all $4.99 on sale for $2.50 each – I had $1 off coupons that I doubled making them 50-cents each.  That’s a common theme here today, it seems….50-cents.

11_23_10_9

Another deal of the century.  Cheese.  Who doesn’t love cheese?  Who doesn’t love FREE cheese?  $4.39 on sale for $2 each, doubled a $1 coupon = free.  I like.

11_23_10_8

Here’s another one that requires no doublers and no coupons of your own.  Often times with new products the manufacturers want to make it a no-brainer for you to try it, get you hooked and then jack up the price.  I know their game.  And I’ll beat them at their game because I’ll buy it now on the cheap – and lots of it – and I won’t buy it later on the high!  The crackers were $4.19 on sale for $2.49 and when you bought them you got $2 off yogurt which I chose in these little 4-packs.  So $2.49 and I got a box of crackers and a 4-pack of yogurt.  Would have been better if I had a coupon for either – but I did this for you all really…just to show you how you don’t need to have coupons or doublers to save…see how much I care about you?

11_23_10_7

Ohhh the Ziplocs!  Another fun one.  These were $2.59 on sale for $2.  I had coupons for $1 off (2) which made them $1 each.  But there was also a Catalina going where you got $1.25 back for every (2) that you bought making it 75-cents for (2) or 38-cents each.  And we use Ziplocs a lot…especially for buying meat in bulk and packaging it and freezing it.

11_23_10_6

This lil’ vignette cost 69-cents…for everything you see here.  The floss was $1.89, doubled $1 = free, the Clorox wipes were 50-cents and I had 75-cent off coupons (no doubling needed to score free), and the Tums were $2.69 and I doubled $1 making all this 69-cents.

11_23_10_5

I don’t even have a dog.  Crazy?  Maybe.  My kids really want a dog.  They can’t keep their rooms clean and they want a dog.  So it’s a no…at least for now.  However my daughter is always talking about her teacher’s dog, Jake.  Well these were free, so what the heck – give the teacher an extra Christmas present for Jake.  $3.89, buy 1, get 1.  I had coupons for $1 off each.  So I got $4 off and remember I only had to pay for (1) because of the BOGO = FREE.

11_23_10_4

Shout out to Lorraine! – got me some King’s Hawaiian rolls….18-cents each.  $1.09 each, coupons for $1 off (2) = 18-cents for sweet, soft Aloha.  The stuffing was $2.79 on sale for $2, I doubled 55-cent off coupons making them 90-cents each.

11_23_10_3

Dog treats when I don’t have a dog and Pine Sol when I don’t even clean – LOL  Just keepin’ it real.  $4.29 for Pine Sol?? – that’s why I don’t clean!  On sale for $2.50, doubled $1 = 50-cents each.  Maybe I’ll take up cleaning now….although I kinda doubt it.  These Febreeze Air Effects things sure are fancy.  Same thing – $3.59 on sale for $2.50, doubled $1 = 50-cents.

11_23_10_2

Keebler cookies…guess how much?  Go ahead, guess.  $4.59 for cookies…shut up.  On sale for $2.50, doubled a dollar = 50-cents.  See they have peelies on them too – but my coupon was better so I’ll save these to use another time when maybe they are part of a promo or at a better sale price.   The Stove Top stuffings were $2.49 each, on sale for $1.25.  I had $1 off (2) which made them 25-cents each.  The pasta was free – $2.19 on sale for $1.69, doubled $1 = free.  The almonds were $3.39, on sale for $2.50, doubled $1…you get it now, right?  The Lipton was $1.79, doubled 75-cents making it 29-cents.

If you’re new to couponing and you want to give it a go, head on over to Coupons.com and type in your zip code and see what’s available in your area.  Print those coupons out.  And when you’re done, do it all over because you can get (2) prints of each coupon.  And when you’re done with that, type in zip codes 90210 – yes, Beverly Hills, 83713 – that’s me, and 12345 – – they often have different things available that are not designated for your area but that your stores may carry.  Do this today because then on the 1st, new coupons come and some of these will be re-set allowing you to print again.

Girl, were wondering if you were okay – no post yesterday. Sorry about Boise.
Sausage – bwahahaha. And you definitely are the queen of couponing! Thanks so much for the tips. I still cannot believe the deals you work out. You need to teach classes to the masses on this stuff. I’m sure you could get paid for this somehow! and 18 cents for sweetbread? gah! Anyway, hope the cookies help ease the pain some!

I’m in awe of your mad couponing! I’m sick this week so I’m not couponing but I did manage to save $60 at Target on Wednesday! 🙂

Wow! I totally needed to see this today! I am going to the grocery store shortly for, really, the first time. My husband is deployed and he usually does ALL grocery shopping. So, I am clueless about what to even buy and have only TWO coupons from today’s paper. This website could be a lifesaver! Hmm..i’ll have to take a looksie and see what I can find. Thanks for the heads up!

As far as Boise – I’m sorry. We’re Buckeye fans here, but I do like Boise. I was shocked they lost and sad that they won’t get a chance to “prove” themselves to all of the Haters out there by possibly going to the National Championship. 🙁

I am a BSU alum and have been a fan since I was in high school! I was in school when we won the Divion 1AA National Championship in 1980 and I attended the first Fiesta Bowl. I have season tickets on the East Side of the Stadium and I LOVE the blue turf!!!

You are a coupon queen. Do you have an Aldi near you? That is where I shop so I don’t coupon anymore. But, I love free!! 🙂
