Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends.

I hope this day of thanks and giving, and giving thanks, proves to be a special day for you and yours.  If you remember, my aunt is “hosting” Thanksgiving this year:  reservations are for 1 o’clock at Tucanos.  After that, my mom will come to our house and we’ll have….homemade pizza.  For real.  Tomorrow however we will make our own “real” Thanksgiving dinner.

I made some little treat jars to give to my mom and my aunt today – well, from the kids – and then I also made one for our neighbor, Linda.  We don’t really know Linda much, but she’s never home on Halloween and she always puts together treat bags for the kids and brings them over with a little note – and I think that’s really nice of her.  Instead of our customary thank-you card, I thought we’d do a little giftie for her.

I love canning jars – so crisp and bright, but homespun at the same time.  I got some sparkly sheer fabric at Joann’s and cut (2) 6.5″x6.5″ pieces (rust colored and cream colored) with my pinking shears.  And then I laid one on top of the other diagonally so that there was a point at every angle and then I screwed the lid on.

For my tag I used a library card and pocket from Maya Road and stamped to/from on the card and then a Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Verve on the pocket.

I stamped and cut out a little Papertrey Ink gingerbread man – not just for Christmas anymore – and topped him with some Terracotta Tile buttons and some Prima pearl eyes….and added some glitter to the ric-rac on his arms and legs.  I also inked the edges of the card, pocket and gingerbread man.

That brown ribbon is gorgeous – it’s silk or taffeta or something fancy-schmancy – picked it up at Oblation in Portland, Oregon.  I am constantly reminding myself to use the good stuff – and that goes for the good dishes, the good glasses, candles, and the good silverware.

Lindt truffles in (3) different fall colors – beautiful…and they taste incredible.

I’ll see you back here later today with my post for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.
