Happy Sunday, Dolls!

Lots to cover today, so let’s get to it.  I signed up for the holiday gift exchange over at The Ardent Sparrow.  I imagine most of the girls participating are the crafty kind, so I knew I had to create something (as opposed to just buying something).  Create something for someone I know nothing about.  I went and checked out this girl’s blog and she’s a crafty girl – makes pretty vintage hair things and sells them on ETSY.  I knew then that I was going vintage in some fashion.  So I made some gift bags and a cute journal with some of BasicGrey’s Curio collection from Michelle’s Scrapbooking & More.

 Michelles Scrap

I started with a little vintage paper sack, and because the Curio papers are just so gorgeous on their own, I adhered an entire 6×6 piece to each bag.  Then I made a tag and embellished it with coordinating Curio papers, stickers, a Papertrey Ink stamp, some vintage black lace trim, and some jute twine.

This one particular piece of patterned paper from the Curio collection is breathtaking.  I didn’t want to use it on a bag only to cover it up with a tag, so I used 1/2 of it on the front of my journal and the other 1/2 on the back side.

And then I embellished a lil’ Ghiradelli candy bar so that she’d have something Christmassy for her in the package.  I used some October Afternoon patterned paper and sticker strip, topped with some Webster’s cotton trim, some red velvet ric rac, and that pretty Prima flower from Michelle’s Scrapbooking & More.

I read too that my gift exchange person had 2 kids.  For all I know they can be 25 and out of the house – LOL  But she looks young enough to have little ones at home, so I just added a little sum-sum to a couple bags of Christmas marshmallows that I picked up at Cost Plus and now we have a nice lil’ surprise in the package for the kiddies too.  Christmas is all about the kids.
