I do believe we have a new tradition starting this year in the Philippi household.  My sweet little girl is such a crafter.  She loves making cards – freehand cuts them – and then colors with markers on the inside, and smacks stickers all over the front.  She’s even taken to writing on the back of them “by Kayleigh” so that people know she made it herself – cute.  Well, she decided to make cards for my husband, my son and me and she’s got them in little envelopes in this little red vintage metal bucket out by the Christmas tree.  I got to thinking that because we do oodles and oodles of presents, and stockings, and Santa stuff, a pause to read a card with some sweet words would be a nice, warm moment.  So, I made 3 cards – 1 each for my daughter, my husband, and my son.

This is the card I made for my daughter.  She is so in love with Christmas.  I took a large Jenni Bowlin bingo card and used that where I normally would have a piece of patterned paper, and then just added all sorts of fun bits & bobs to it, and finished it off by stitching on some lace trim.  I think she’s gonna love it…almost as much as I love her.

Um yeah, your daughter is crafty talented – gets it from her mama, lol! That sounds like such a special tradition. And I agree, she will LOVE her card – great idea to use the bingo card to hold all the too cute embellies. I’ll take the gingerbread man & cupcake to go, lol. And you with the added gorgeous detailing – love that stitched on ribbon.

This is another great one! We do the handmade cards to eachother, too… well, me and the kids do it, not the hubs. But it’s so cute the way you described your daughters cards. If you were closer, yours and mine could do that together. They are two peas in a pod!
