Enjoy life.

I’ve been reading on the forums about people wanting to spend less in the new year – specifically on crafting goodness.  Because I design for magazines and design teams, I need to work with current product so I can’t just stop buying as some people suggest.  However, I have realized that I have so much stuff – especially patterned paper – that I don’t get to use it all.  How sad 🙁  As I was home last week getting all sorts of crafty it occurred to me that I bought (2) Christmas collections:  Webster’s Pages and The Girls’ Paperie and I didn’t make not one Christmas card with their papers.  Blasphemy!  I don’t really have a solution, or any grand epiphany to share.  I was just thinking – or typing – out loud.  Just something I thought of as I was loading these Webster’s Pages cards to share with you today.

Quick and easy – stickers make getting a card turned out and in the mail in a jiffy.

Not as quick, but still love me some stickers.

I am not on any type of design team so I can pull it off, but just think of all the money you save on your coupon adventures!!!!!!!

I so love the butterfly card! The colors on the second one are pretty! I dont do design teams either, right now any ways…so I can do it! 🙂 But you save so much on your adventures I must agree, you have the ability to buy new stuffs with no guilt at all, cause you are STILL saving more than most of us! 😉 Happy day…hope your day back to work is great and no one BUGS you 😉

Ooh, gorgeousness! Love the paper & the green on the 2nd card. And I have tons of paper that are not “current”. But I’m not on any DT so I can just “use ’em”, lol.

love love love the butterfly card…and believe it or not, I’m the most frugal of my friends when it comes to scrapping supplies( I might spend $20 a month if that-many times I trade stuff, win stuff and people flat out buy me stuff cause they love me :))) since I’m the only tow or three who is a SAHM-the rest of my friends spend WAYY too much on supplies but you think about it, there are millions of worse things to spend money on right???

I hear ya. I’ve actually been really hesitant to buy anything for the past year because I’m just sick about how much stuff I haven’t used that is discontinued. What I need is 4 local friends to split a 12×12 page with 4 ways. That’s about the most I ever use.

But I agree with the rest….if I saved what you do on groceries believe me my craft budget would not be a problem. I went grocery shopping today and spent $104.86 and saved $44.62. No coupons….just sales. And that is about as good as it gets around here. Sucks.

Beautiful cards. You really have a designer’s eye for detail.

  8. lisa, too!

I heard your “not” using either of the Christmas patterned papers/stacks you bought… here’ a teeny solution! http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/ is having a “challenge” every week for different Christmas cards, so by the time Dec 1 hits, you’ve amassed 48 different Christmas cards! AND, it’s not really a challenge, in that you get to just do it if you want. You really should check it out! (I’m starting this week, on week 3…)

Oh! and I now follow you and subscribed to you via email. I just love your new features (and your cards of course!).
