Adventures in Couponing – doublin’ at Albies.
Posted by Michelle on February 13th, 2011 . Filed under: Couponing .It’s been a few weeks since they had doublers at Albertsons. But this week made up for it. Usually they have doublers for 3 days but this time it was for 7 whole days. So I went one day during the week, and then found a bunch more coupons so Rob and I went back another day. It was fun for him to see what I do and how I do it on my big couponing sprees – and my girls at Albies were happy to meet “mister Michelle” – LOL
No coupons needed here – but a serious score. I told you before that I always check for the marked-down meat. Chicken breasts were on promo this week BOGO. But they were also discounted $3 off each.
I got (6) packs of chicken, took $3 off each of them and then got (3) of them free. Huge savings.
We were going to pay the sale price and by (2) 2-liters at $1.25 each for Super Bowl Sunday. And then my cashier Autumn asks me if I am going to do the popcorn deal. I asked what it was. Hello – you get (2) 2-liters and (2) popcorns for a total of $1.68. Why yes, I think we are going to do the popcorn deal, thank you! We did it 3 times….but drank some of the pop before photos were taken.
The Special K was on sale for $2.99. I had coupons for $1-off making them 99-cents each which is a good price. $1 or less is a good price for cereal. 50-cents or less is when I get about 40 boxes worth if I have the coupons for it. So 99-cents a box and when you bought (3) boxes you get free $3 worth of produce. That’s a really good deal…99-cent cereal and romaine lettuce and some carrots for free, thanks! I actually like prunes. Even though my husband makes fun of me because they are an old people food. They were $2.79 and I had $1-off coupons that I doubled making them 79-cents each. Not a steal of a deal, but coupons for prunes are rare so I had to take advantage while I could. The floss was free – $1.89 with $1-off coupons that I doubled, and the Tums were $2.69 and I doubled $1-offs there too making them 69-cents each.
Activia. Yeah. It’s not just normal yogurt – did you know that? I didn’t. I’m trying to be all healthy and get skinny. So I decided to do yogurt for breakfast…during the week….at the office. No one told me what Activia is about. But now I know. And I do not recommend eating this – ever. That’s all Imma say about that. Oh, and they were 29-cents for a 4-pack after doubling $1-off coupons.
These little Phillies were 19-cents each as they were on clearance for $1.19 and I had 50-cent off coupons that I doubled. They are great to take to the office with some celery. But not with Activia. Oh no, not with Activia.
Dean’s dip was free. $2, doubled $1. The kids love the French onion but not the ranch?
Free weenies! On sale for $1 and I had coupons for $1 off 2 which I doubled meaning $2 off 2 = $0.
Wheeeeeeeee – who doesn’t love free weenies?!
$4.99 Kraft cheese singles were on sale for $2.50 and I had $1-off coupons that I doubled which made these 50-cents each.
Free La Choy. On sale for $1.49, I doubled 75-cent off coupons.
I had BOGO coupons for the Nesquiks which made them a little cheaper than when they are on sale.
Peanut butter bars. That’s what we used to call them in 4th grade. 9-cents each after doublers.
Kikkoman coupons said “$1 off any Kikkoman product” so instead of the soy sauce, I got the panko bread crumbs which were on sale for $1.50 = free.
$1 each after doublers; not a steal, but cheap enough for a fun treat for the kiddies during the Super Bowl.
Free tuna.
49-cents each after doublers.
Free too.
And the big score. 40 cans of free soup. On sale for 99-cents each. I had coupons for $1-off 2, doubled that = free, free, and free some more.
