Adventures in Couponing – just paying the tax.

Do you have a Rite Aid where you are?  You do?  Are you shopping it?  You’re not?  Well why the heckles not?!  I have been playing with the same $10 since the beginning of the year.  Is that crazy or what?  I invested $10 and I’m getting a bunch of stuff….loads even.  Getting it all free paying with the +Ups I’ve earned, or using coupons in conjunction with a +Up promo and getting more +Ups back than what I paid with.  It’s a beautiful thing.

Finesse products were on sale 2/$1 – that’s a great stock up price.  I don’t use this brand, but my kids can and will, and it’ll be good to take camping.  50-cents each…and paid with +Ups so it’s all free to me.

This oddball brand of biscotti was $4 on sale for 99-cents.  I thought this would be great to go in some of my kraft window coffee bags as a little giftsie.  The Lindt truffles were on sale for $2.99 and I had $1-off coupons which made them $1.99.  I have seen them go 3/$5 but that doesn’t come around very often, so this is a really good price.  But again, I paid with +Ups so this was all free to me.

Spic & Span towels were on clearance for 50-cents each.  I had coupons from Coupons.com for $1-off any (2) Spic & Span products; ’nuff said.

The Thermacare and the Clairol were free – I always do those online promo things and get stuff in the mail.  I get my hair colored at the salon, so this will be a gift for my momma.  Both of these things actually.  The deodorants I made $1.25 on.  Combining manufacturer coupons found in the Sunday paper along with buy (2) and get $2 +Up back made the Degree 25-cents each, the Speed Stick 50-cents each, and the Dove I made $1 on each.  So (15) deodorants for $1.25; they paid me to take these off their hands.  Thanks, Rite Aid!  The Colgate was buy (1) for $3.50 and get $3.50 back.  And the Gas-X was free too – on sale for $4.99, use a $4-off coupon, and get a $1 +Up back = free.

There were some coupons in the Sunday paper for $1-off any Vicks product.
Found these little guys (again) at Walgreens…for free.

Charlene in Canada asked about the +Ups.  The +Ups usually expire anywhere from 2-4 weeks after you get them.  So you have to be on top of things if you are not a diligent, regular couponer.  Because I shop Rite Aid every week now, I obviously have no problem using them before they expire.

This week there were doublers at Albertsons again, and today starts some hot deals (again) at Rite Aid.
We’re gonna have a fun one for y’all next week 😉

So I was away for 5 days with ZERO internet access (seriously!) and couldn’t wait to check out your score as soon as I got back. How fun to find an honorable mention in your post. Heehee.

How about showing us your stock pile and how you store it? If you have a designated area that is.
