Just a note.
Posted by Michelle on March 9th, 2011 . Filed under: BasicGrey, Cards .I just love using black as a card base. It really makes the card pop….and if you are going for vintage it really adds to the card. The only thing I hate: putting a light piece of paper on the inside so I can write on it. Just too lazy. So I’ve been using silver Sharpies and my white gel pen, but they still aren’t easy to read on black.
Ah well.

This is beautiful! I just love the colors and your gorgeous ribbon/flower treatment! You’re crazy. I add a piece of paper to the insides of all my cards, even the white ones! It takes two seconds woman LOL!

I haven’t used a black card base in a long time–thanks for reminding me how nice it looks. Your card is beautiful!

Gorgeous card. I like black as a base also. What I usually do is actually use a white or ivory base and cover the entire front with the black.

I am so with you on the light piece of cardstock on the inside. What a bore. This is a lovely card. Curio? The colors are divine and I love love love the flower embellie. Perfection.

Looks great – no matter what pen you use inside!

I totally agree on a black card base–looks sophisticated right off the bat. Get your kids to cut you some insides that you can just pop inside! They’ll be thrilled that they helped! 🙂

Oh yes, the black base looks divine with that colour combo. Must try it out. Thanks for the inspiration (as usual!)

Beautiful card, Michelle- I LOVE the postage image- so earthy and plays so well with the lacy damask background. Just gorg…..
