Busy day here on the ol’ blog.  I’ve got 2 posts today, so be sure you check out both!

As many of you know, I’m one of those sick people who gets Christmas stuff ready well in advance.  I have a crazy system which has my Christmas shopping done by my birthday – October 5th, and then my wrapping gets started on October 6th and is all done by Thanksgiving.  It’s madness, BUT! it allows me to enjoy the holiday season without the craziness of crowds and traffic and snow.  I also like to have a lot of personal touches in my gifts as well as in the gift wrapping.  I make pretty bows with fancy, wide, wire-edge ribbon and top them with little pine cones and whatnots that I’ve picked up at craft stores’ after-Christmas clearance sales.  Carrying that personalization one step further, I’ve got some handmade gift taggies all ready to go for my husband and the kidlets this year.

I diecut these little pockets using the seed packet die from Papertrey Ink, and out of patterned paper from Stampin’ Up!  Can you believe it?  Me, Stampin’ Up!?  I know.  Thing is, they had this new little banner punch that I wanted, looked through the catalog and saw this paper and could not resist.  Topped them with coordinating stickers and diecuts, and some chipboard sentiments from GCD, and then tucked a little piece of some May Arts ribbon in to each to give it some elegance and some texture.  This is great for scrap ribbon too – so think about that when you are unwrapping Christmas gifts this year 😉  And then finally for  some more fun – and practicality, I punched a hole in each one and threaded through some Brown Sugar Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics.  So now all we have to do is tie it on to the ribbon when the gift is all wrapped up!
