Paying it Forward…with your help.

If you’re a blog regular, you’re used to my Sunday couponing posts. And while I’ll still have a Sunday post this week ;), today isn’t about me. More on that in a second.
So let me tell you about this deal. Hamburger Helper. Hamburger Helper is regularly $2.39 a box. This week it was on sale 10 for $10 – $1 each. And for every 10 you bought, you got $5-off. So 50-cents per box. I bought 10, and doubled (3) 75-cent off coupons that took $4.50 off the $5 making it 50-cents for (10) boxes. 5-cents per box. And after that, a coupon printed for $2 off meat. So for 50-cents, I got 10 boxes of Hamburger Helper and $2 worth of meat. That is the deal of the century. So we did it 6 times. We got 5 cases each of 12 boxes of Hamburger Helper, and $12 of money for meat, and and and 350 bonus Box Tops for Education to give to the school. An amazing score. Thing is – we don’t need all this Hamburger Helper. We just bought 150 or something a few weeks ago. And we donated most of that to the church.

How SWEET of you to do this. Our local food pantry is overwhelmed with people needing help, but I don’t know of any one particular family. (I just wanted you to know that this is an especially nice thing to do!) If everyone who does this extreme couponing thing did something like this, it would help so much!
