Adventures in Couponing.

Lots of good stuff to share with you today, so hello and let’s roll!

Walgreens was our first stop.  My daughter and I – she’s 7 – are the first ones there at 8am every Sunday.  {I’m Catholic so we can go to Mass Saturday night, or at different times on Sunday so don’t think we are heathens for couponing on Sunday and missing church ;)}.  Anyway.  Chips.  Chips are the devil.  I can’t eat them because no lie, I eat one from the bag and call that bag gone.  But these yummy Kettle chips were on sale for $1.99.  I had coupons for $1-off so that made them 99-cents each.  Good price.  But I paid with Register Rewards so my total OOP (out of pocket) for these and 3 of the Halloween pencils that you see below was $1.41.

Walgreens pads – that I do not use and will donate – were $2, get $2 back.  Things like this are great when you have expiring RRs and need something to “buy” so you get something like these and get even money back to use next week on hopefully something you want/need.  And this Schick razor was on sale for $8.49 get $4.50 back. I registered online and got a free coupon sent to me so I didn’t have to pay anything and got the $4.50.  That’s a money maker.  And then more of my filler items – Halloween pencils.  Total OOP here was 94-cents.  And I’ve got $2 in RRs to go towards next week.

And then we braved the rain and headed down to the Walmart.  Can I just tell you that I don’t like strangers talking to me?  This lady with her coupon binder was trying to tell me that this coupon won’t work on this and that.  I’m like, do I look like I don’t know what I’m doing?  Do you know who I am?  LOL!  Just because I don’t carry the big-ass coupon binder around with me doesn’t mean I’m a rookie.  OK, rant over.  So first up we have more Sierra Mists – I had coupons that I doubled that made these 28-cents each.  And then the Libby’s pears I had coupons that I doubled that made these 12-cents each.

The fine folks at Kikkoman USA sent me a couple of $1-off coupons that I doubled and made 44-cents on the sweet & sour sauce.  The Philadelphia cream cheeses I had coupons that I doubled making them 50-cents each.  The butter was $1.98, doubled $1 and made 2-cents.  And the pork roast was discounted to $3.49 and I had $1-off coupon that I doubled and got Monday night crockpot dinner for $1.49.

I registered online and got a $1-off milk coupon sent to me which I doubled and got a gallon of milk for 39-cents.  The teas were $2.38, doubled $1 and got them for 38-cents each.  I got the peppermint ones with the candy canes on them to use for Christmas gifts for church and school teachers 😉  And then the Ovaltine was spendy – even with doubling $1, they were $1.48 each.  But I’m going to send to my niece and nephew in California with their Christmas presents so it’s a cheap, yummy gift.

This shot is nothing but overage.  The Sure deodorants netted me 24-cents.  The LA Looks gel netted me 6-cents.  The Crest kids toothpastes netted me 21-cents.  The Tide packets netted me 24-cents.  And the Sally Hansen emery boards netted me 26-cents.  Everything you see here was free plus $1.01 going to the rest of the order.

IHOP breakfast things that the kids love love love were $2.87, doubled $1 and they were 87-cents each.  The Rhodes rolls – delish, have you had these?? – were 98-cents each after doubling.  The plain white rolls will be for Thanksgiving dinner and the cinnamon rolls will be for Christmas morning.  And the pretzels were $1.96, doubled $1 and made 8-cents total on these.

So if we add the Walgreens and the Walmart trips together,
I paid $14.96 for everything you see here today.

Hey there Michelle! As always I am so impressed! Those rolls look yummy! I am getting to go grocery shopping in a few and I have my sad little packet of coupons ready! Which is a total improvement on before when I would pay full price for a box of cereal.
