Hello, my name is Michelle and I’m addicted to toothpaste. Seriously. My husband just told me he thinks we have about 70 tubes of toothpaste. But I can’t stop buying it. Especially when it’s free – or better still when it’s a moneymaker! How can you not? I mean who turns down free stuff? Not me, that’s who!
Alright, so this first shot we have money-making toothpaste from Walgreens. Buy 2 Crest for $5.50, I had coupons for $2 off each, so I paid $1.50 and they gave me a $3.50 Register Rewards. Hi, I made $2 for every 2. Who turns their back on that?? And then there’s some more of those little Vicks cough drops that you’ve seen here before. They are 2/$1.97 all the time and I have $1 coupons so these are always free.
And then the following week, more toothpaste. Just free though, not money-making. These were 2 for $7, I had coupons for $1 off each and they gave me a $5 Register Reward for every 2 which made these all free. And Riiiiiiiiiiiicola! was free too. $2 each with a $2 RR back and I had BOGO coupons from the Sunday newspaper, which made these all free. Toothpaste, cough drops, toothbrushes, deodorant – I never pay for these items.
And I figure since we’ve got enough toothpaste, a little candy is OK 😉 $1.99 a bag and I had $1.50 coupons which made these 49-cents a bag. But I paid with Register Rewards so I really didn’t pay for these at all. And then a couple of m&m packs for filler items.
Blue Diamond almonds were $3.59 and BOGO. I had coupons for $1-off-2 which made these $1.29 each. My husband loves these and I will use some for a Christmas present for my uncle. And the tomato sauces were filler items to throw in to all my transactions to roll my RRs.
So rough math here – all this cost $23.80 after coupons and sale prices and free. I made $14.00 in there so that means all this cost $9.80. I have $18.50 back in Register Rewards so that means I got all this for an $8.70 profit. Yeah, and he wants me to stop buying toothpaste. WhatEver! 😉
