Adventures in Couponing – on Thanksgiving Day.

I thought I’d pop back in and share my couponing adventures from today with you all in case you have a Walgreens in your market and have a little extra time today to go out and take advantage.  Ain’t like you’ve got anything better to do, right?  🙂

So here’s a page from the Thanksgiving Day ad that was in the newspaper this morning.  This whole page is nothing but freebage.  Buy this for this price and get your money back in a Register Reward.  If you happen to have coupons for any of these items – which I did 😉 – that turns them in to a moneymaker because you pay less than what it is on sale for but you still get the full amount back.

So I headed out to the 24-hour Walgreens at 4am this morning.  Sick, I know.  I started out with $9 in Register Rewards from Sunday.  I paid $7.22 out-of-pocket and left with all that you see here plus another $23.50 in Register Rewards.  $9, less $7.22, plus $23.50 = $16.28 profit.

Later on when the 9am Walgreens opened, I was there with my $23.50 Register Rewards from earlier.  I paid $5.73 out-of-pocket and left with all that you see here plus another $17.50 in Register Rewards.  $23.50, less $5.73, plus $17.50 = $11.77 profit.  This amount would have been higher but I accidentally used one of my Register Rewards on the same item so a new Register Reward wouldn’t print out – bugger!

Here’s a little picture of the Register Rewards that I was left with.  And!  The first 130 transactions at each Walgreens today got a free Redbox rental.  I got 9 of ’em!  Alright, back to cooking…
