Adventures in Couponing.

Welcome welcome to another one of my coupon adventures.  I’m a little off on my scheduling – my picture taking actually – as it was snowing….and cold…and raining so I just kept piling things in to the trunk and not bringing things in.  So I have a couple of weeks worth of things to share with you today.  Good stuff though 😉

Alright.  So these first few things were on the remainder of double coupons.  These Dr. Pepper Tens – which I love! – had little hangtags on them for 55-cents off.  Doubled them and these were 18-cents each.  $1.80 for 10 of them which is about the average price for just 1.

These saltine crackers were not the deal of the century, but we needed them as winter time means soups, stews and chili and the kids have been wanting them.  So they were $2 each with $1-off-2 coupons attached to them, so I got 6 boxes at $1 each.  They may go down to 80-cents, but again, this was something that we needed.  Same thing with the chili – the kids wanted it, I told them if I ever got coupons for them.  And I found some, doubled them and I think these were around 65-cents each.

After coupons and doublers, the sugar-free jam was 38-cents each, the Mr. Clean stuff was about the same, and everything else was free.

OK.  So work with me here.  Before you tell me I am a crazy obsessed fat lady, just listen listen listen!  These multi-packs of candy were $1 each.  This week Albertsons had their round-up program going where any coupon under $1 rounds up to $1 – and Walmart was matching that.  So I had coupons for 50-cents off 2 of these which would end up being $1 off 2 making these 50-cents each.  I just got a few at first because they were going to be for the class Valentine goody bags.  But when I got to the register, the gal made them each 25-cents and then scanned my coupon.  Um…that makes them free.  I tried to explain to her how it works to make me pay 50-cents but she told me that this is how it works.  What?  I’m trying to tell you that you’re giving me things for free and she’s telling me that I’m wrong.  Uh….OK?  Who am I to argue with the business practices of the Walmart, right?  I mean they must know what they are doing since the Walton family is richer than Oprah.  So I told her I had more coupons and could I get more – sure!  LOL!  So I got more.  So yes.  All 56 packs of these were free.  Madness.

More free candy with the round-up program.  Zone bars were 92-cents, rounded up 55-cent coupons and made 8-cents on each.  Gummi bears – am I the only person in the world who does NOT like gummi bears? – were 97-cents, rounded up a 30-center and these were free too.

Um….more all free.  The Band-aids were with a double coupon the week before.  And the little Kotex were $1.24, I had $1 off and was going to pay 24-cents each on them but she made them $1 and scanned the coupon making them free.  Sam Walton is turning over in his grave right now *waving to Sammy*  The Blistex, Crest, Carmex and Chapstick were all less than $1, rounded up my coupons and they were all free or even made a few cents on some of them.

The Kleenex was 57-cents each after the round-up which was worth it to me because I am now a lover of the Cool Touch variety.  Dawn was 12-cents after the round-up, and Brawny was free.

047 copy

30-cent Worcestershire, 8-cent mustard (we make a bean dish that calls for 1 cup of mustard so yes, we will use this stuff), 57-cent Uncle Ben’s, free tomato paste, and free Paul Newman’s salsa because she made the price of the item the price of the coupon…I tried to tell her….

…same thing with the sugars.  I was supposed to pay 77-cents each.  But again she made the price of the item the price of the coupon so they were all free.  And the yeast were 4-cents each after the round-up.  The round-up goes through Tuesday, so I’m excited to get today’s paper and score some more hot deals – on the legit 😉

Moving right along to Walgreens…..  Free South Beach bars….and free diet supplements…and free Thermacare – buy the item, and get that amount back in a RR.  The cookies were my filler item – thought they’d be cute for our little Valentine soiree.  The little card packs were on clearance for 24-cents and were fillers too along with the caramel.

The Triaminics were a moneymaker, on sale 2 for $10, used (2) $3 coupons makes it $4, and then they gave me a $5 RR back.  After sale/coupons/RRs, the Tylenols were 50-cents each, but the $1 moneymaker from the Triaminics paid for them.

And these are all my filler items – added in to purchases to be able to roll the Register Rewards.  50-cent Arizonas, 39-cent Chips Ahoy, 49-cent oyster crackers….and 1 protein bar that was buy it for $1.99 and get $1.99 back.

If anyone’s looking for me today, just have me paged at the Walmart – LOL!
