Adventures in Couponing.

Happy Easter!  I hope you have a great day filled with family, friends and fun.
We’ll do Easter baskets first thing – gotta see what the Easter Bunny brought 😉 – and then we’ll have breakfast, coupon a lil’ at Walgreens, go to church, and then come home for an Easter egg hunt and the family coming over for dinner.  Should be a busy but fun, happy day.  I say should be – haven’t seen Aunt Connie since the key lime pie incident on St. Patrick’s Day so I’m not sure how today is going to go.

Alright, so this couponing adventure at the Walmart was epic.  So epic that I can’t share it all with you today.  We’ll get to that in a bit, but let’s get started with Easter candy.  Free Snickers eggs, free Peeps and free m&ms Easter tubes.  Lindt white chocolate bars were 48-cents after coupons and doublers.  You can see what I did with those HERE.

There was a great McCormick coupon in the Sunday paper so I doubled it and stocked up on pepper and cinnamon – 18-cents and 25-cents each.  And I also used it on food coloring that I knew we’d be using for Easter eggs.  Still made them $1.50ish, but I saved $1.50 each on something we needed.

Gallons of milk for $1 each after coupons and doublers, eggs were 58-cents after coupons and doublers – again, something we needed for Easter, 18-cent Country Crock spread, and 49-cents for the Easter cookies.  I could have baked something for Easter, but I knew it was going to be a busy weekend, and as cheap as these were going to be, I figured it was something I’d get and let the kids make.

98-cents for those yogurt smoothies, 60-cents for the YoCrunch 4-packs, free Activia, and 58-cent fish fillets.

50-cent Emerald Breakfast on the Gos for my daughter, and free Folgers instant coffee packs.  You can’t tell from this picture, but I got 24 boxes for free.  My mom loves these so they’ll be for her for Mother’s Day…on the free 😉  And 48-cent Smucker’s apple jelly.  Never had apple jelly, but it was the cheapest variety – I figure it can’t be bad, right?

010 copy

30-cent Club crackers, 49-cent Wheat Thins, and 68-cent bread.

012 copy

Free slow cooker liners, $1 sandwich bags, free baby food (something I will use to barter with for produce from a lady who has babies…and a garden), and the Color Wonders were $5, got $2 off = $3 (my daughter’s pay for all her help on this trip).

018 copy

10 boxes of totally free Minute Maid drinks.  Soccer season started Friday night, so we are set…on the free.

And this is why I can’t show you everything today.  Because I had double what you saw here.  Straight out of those couponing shows on TV.  We got this message and had to end my transaction before I was done.  Crazy.  If you want to know how many items max out the register at the Walmart – it’s 273.  Wowzers.
See you next week with the rest!
