Adventures in Couponing.

Hello, and welcome to another one of my Sunday couponing posts.  This was the last haul before I went on vacation.  Next week we’ll get all caught up on what’s been going on since I got back.  And and and – double coupons start again today and I have a ginormous stack of coupons to make good on today – soooo excited!

Alright…let’s roll with the last round of double coupons at the Walmart.
Milk was 89-cents a gallon after coupons and doublers, and these Fruity Pebbles were $3 each, doubled $1 and so they were $1 each.  I don’t buy ricotta often, but it was on a price rollback, and I had a coupon, so I paid $1.18 for it – not even sure if that’s a good deal or not.  But we’re having lasagna tonight – woo!

98-cents for Simply OJ – this stuff is the bestest OJ out there; and all this margarine was free.  The margarine coupons come out often – online, and in the newspaper, and when doubled – it’s always free.  And the date on them is always like 6 months out.  We have a lottttt of margarine in our refrigerator.

It always boggles my mind how small pop bottles are the same price if not more than the big pop bottles.  The large ones I got for 48-cents after coupons and doublers.  We have tons of diet ones, but got the regular ones because sometimes I likes me some sugar 😉  The small Crush bottles were buy 1, get 1 free and the only reason I got them was to put in the ice chest in the car on the way up to Vancouver.  I knew we’d stop at gas stations and buy pop all along the way and thought this would be a good way to save….at 70-cents each.  The pickles were 12-cents after coupons and doublers.

Alexia frozen potatoes were 98-cents each after coupons and doublers.  Potatoes take so long to cook so I’m all about the quick & easy way to add to our meals.

Free pasta, 32-cent taco shells, and 55-cent chili.

The Jello.  I gots screwed on the Jello!  Here’s the thing about Walmart – and probably a lot of other grocery stores:  the price tags don’t always go with what’s in that spot.  So my daughter and I took time to find the cheaper ones so we could save the most.  We got up to the register and they rang up higher – all of them – which meant we paid more.  And when it takes you over an hour to check out because you’re buying 187 items, sometimes you just say screw it, and take it – LOL!  I think I paid like 20something cents each when I was supposed to pay half that.  Ah well, you can’t get it all for free all the time 😉

And the good thing is – she rang up the Lifesavers as moneymakers.  You aren’t supposed to be able to make money on double coupon items, the best you can get it for is free.  But she doubled the coupons on these and I made 12 cents each.  So I guess that offsets the Jello debacle 🙂  And free green tea.

68-cent C&H sugars, $1.99 foil ($3.48 – $1.50 {regular coupon, not doubled}), and 50-cents for a clearance candy mold.

031 copy

$1 Twinkies, 68-cent bread, and 48-cent King’s Hawaiian sammie buns.

036 copy

86-cents for the big blue packs, and everything else was totally free.  Free/super cheap pads are a great donation item to women’s shelters and girl’s homes.

012 copy

96-cent Garnier, $1.36 toilet paper, 24-cent bar soap, and free toothpaste.

And now we’re headed out to do it all over again!
