Go Green…literally.

I’m back this evening to share with you the invitation and some things from our St. Patrick’s Day dinner party we are hosting this evening. We have my mom, my aunt & uncle, and my cousin’s kid coming over for dinner tonight – because Wednesday is a school/work night.

So here is the invitation I sent out. Sure I could have called or e-mailed, but I like formal invitations….not formal looking, just formal as in a real, tangible invitation. I used the Go Green sentiment and the little shamrock from Studio G’s Series 41 Spring Holidays and I’ve got that on a base of Ripe Avocado and patterned papers from October Afternoon.

I bought this cute little Wilton silicone shamrock pan at Hobby Lobby to make the ca-utest little cupcakes.

…the ca-uteness starts and stops with the pan.
So Bakerella had green cuppies on her blog. So I thought I would make green cuppies. Had a little disaster.

I had the temperature down 25 degrees like it said….

….but you can hardly tell these are/were shamrocks *tears*

So with 2 hours to go ’til party time I decided to make a trifle out of these. I cut them up, layered on some lemon curd and then alternated with Cool Whip and vanilla pudding – it’s sickening sweet…..

…and not really all that good (I sampled). If it’s a bust, we’ll have mint ice cream; my husband just told me that the mint ice cream is not green however…awesome.

My aunt, uncle and my cousin’s kid showed up an hour and a half early. I was in a housecoat putting this together…and my husband was in his boxers cleaning the kitchen. The house still a wreck. She said it’s OK, they will just stay in the living room…or they can leave and come back. They live less than 10 minutes away so I told her to leave…and she goes “really, really?” I said “yes, could you?” – and they left. I think she’s p*ssed at me, but come on, an hour and a half early?? Dinner should be interesting – maybe even quiet – LOL

Have a nice evening!

LOLOLOL! I have GOT to hear how that dinner turned out! But an hour and half early is a bit extreme. I'm sorry, I have to be honest and admit that I busted out laughing when I saw your "cuppies." LOL… But I NEVER would have thought to do what you did with them – great call! Oh… Yay for Studio G goodness! Love those stamps!!!

MAybe I should not be laughing so hard at this, but that is one funny disaster story. That pan looks like it would be so fun for shamrocky stuff. Sorry nothing turned out how you planned 🙁

I know you had such high hopes when you bought the shamrock pan – sorry it was a bust.

Oh my goodness, that is HILARIOUS!!! That dessert concoction did look sickening sweet, but I have a major sweet tooth, so I probably would have loved it! I can just imagine you telling them to get lost LOL! Did they come back in a good mood??? Love the invites by the way : )
