You are the icing on my cupcake.

Funny thing about cupcakes.  Last night I had the family over to celebrate my mom and my uncle’s birthday.  I made these kick-ass chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate buttercream frosting.  I think though that I didn’t have enough powdered sugar in my frosting because they had a little bitterness to them.  But the husband told me he liked it, so I went with it.  So when it’s time for the cuppies, my aunt – yes, that aunt – made this big production about spitting out her cupcake.  Said it tasted like the mix was rotten.  OK, it’s from scratch and not a box.  And there was nothing wrong with the freakin’ cupcake.  I guarantee you it was the frosting and she just didn’t like it.  Either way she made the gagging hacking sound, and spit it out and kept on about it.  Yeah.  That’s my family.  Everyone else ate their cupcakes.

So a couple of Echo Park Paper cards to share today.  And now we’re off camping – taking the trailer out for the first time this year.  My Big Shot is packed, and I’m ready to go!  Have a great weekend.

Hee. Okay, not so funny at the time, but . . . hee! I commend you for not sending your first card to your aunt. I would. ;-> Okay, not really but I would *want* too! I think bittersweet chocolate icing sounds fancy and all gourmet ‘n stuff, and good too! Love both cards here–signature Michelle style with (as folks said) lots of elements in harmony. I am so jealous of your ability to do that! I made a card recently that I call “Michelle-style” but it has about 2 things on it, LOL! Have a great time camping!
