Such a lovely day.

Started off the day couponing and buying fireworks, then home to make treats and bake. The neighborhood kids seemed to make the rounds from house to house getting wet and doing daytime fireworks like those colored smoke bombs and playing with Pop Its. My mom came over in the afternoon and we watched the first few episodes of Hollywood Exes (reality shows are my guilty pleasure ;)). Then for dinner my husband grilled up 4 racks of baby back ribs and some corn. The grand finale was heading out to do our own fireworks and staying up wayyyy too late on a work night.
But it was all sorts of a good day.
I made these little patriotic candy kabobs for all the neighborhood kids buying from the bulk candy bins at Winco – super cheap.
And then I made cuppies, and even baked cuppies in ice cream cones.
My son was barefoot doing fireworks so I told him to get some shoes on. He fussed and said he couldn’t find any shoes. Seriously? I told him to find some shoes and put them on. So he came back out with his church shoes on. Only the best for America 🙂
It really was such a lovely day.
