End of Summer party.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it: let the kids play with it outside. So last weekend while we were camping, we brainstormed, and put a party together on the fly. I knew I had enough stuff in my stockpile to be able to pull this off without spending much. And we stuck to that. The only thing we had to buy were hot dog buns. Everything else we had on hand.
I cranked out some simple mass-produced invitations. I love this Paper Smooches stamp. And I think I am now an official washi connoisseur.
Packaged them up in glassine bags from my shoppe, finished off with Divine Twine (and more washi!), and had the kids deliver them last weekend.
We had sidewalk chalk art.
And an easy snack mix of popcorn, mini marshmallows and Apple Jacks, packaged in bags and tied off with some fun ribbon.
Ice cream cone cupcakes.
And the main event (or at least what should have been): the shaving cream war.
But the real main event was this. 3 of them rolled up actually.
Yeah….try herding 12 kids when this is going on right across the street. Yikes!
But like I always say: it ain’t a party ’til the cops show up. So cool of them to come by after their business, and talk to the kids and give them stickers. I’m pretty sure this is one party these kids will never forget 😉

Way cool! What an enjoyable post. Such fun was had by all. A shaving cream party sounds wonderful, so glad everyone left with their eyebrows in tact! I totally wish you were my mom. 😉
