Adventures in Couponing.

I’m back today with a few small trips to Walgreens, Rite Aid and the Walmart.  Took 2 hours out of my day – left the house at 7:45am, was home by 9:45am – just in time for church 😉

Alright, up first is Walgreens.  The fish oil pills were $7, get $7 back, plus I had a $1-off coupon, so buying these made me $1 on each one.  The melatonin was free too – $4, get $4 back.  The Kellogg’s products were on sale for $1.77 each – which is a decent price – but I used these as my filler items (along with those cute little compact mirrors and the pumpkin seeds) as I was paying with Register Rewards and then rolling them from transaction to transaction.  I started the day with $10 of their money, and left with $11 of their money.  I did screw up on one of my orders (too hard to explain, but I added in more things than I had to), so I would say that factoring that in I paid about $5 for all this.  (The Colgate was free at Rite Aid – wrong shot, oops.)

On to Rite Aid.  I am still playing with money from filling prescriptions with them and buying and getting money back from week to week and not really paying much but tax here.   Running low on body wash for the husband, been watching for a good deal and here it was.   These things are regularly $4.99 but I paired a BOGO sale with coupons and $ back and got them for $1.16 each – paid with their money, not mine.   And the Yoohoos were 88-cents – I had some of their +Up money that was expiring so I bought those for the littles.

Free Skinny Cow chocolates at Rite Aid.  Paired a sale with coupons to pay $2 for 6 of them and then get $2 back.  My daughter saw the Funfetti cake mix in the clearance bin and wants me to bake cupcakes for their next bake sale.  I’m all for a boxed cake mix for that 😉

And a little trip to the Walmart.  Brown rice for $1.58, less $1 coupons made them 58-cents each.  Batteries were 97-cents, $1 coupon made me 3-cents on each pack.  And the pineapple – for grillin’ with kababs! – were 68-cents each, I had coupons for 75-cents off 2 so that made them 31-cents each.

We had these twice this week.  And I scored a deal on some pork this morning, so we’ll be having more in the coming week.  Was not a fan of the broccoli or cauliflower on the grill.

Have a great Sunday!

    Hey Michelle,

Just curious how you got the free skinnycows at Rite Aid?! Those are one of my favorite snacks. Is it from money from your prescriptions there? Your coupon posts definitely have me wanting to get more into couponing! Thanks for sharing, Kristin
