Bake Sale.

Yay – it’s the weekend!  And it’s gonna be a hot one here in the ‘ho.  I just went out for my morning bike ride, and now I’m inside in the nice, cool air-conditioned house.  What are you up to?  Anything fun like this little girl?

The neighborhood kids have been out hawking cookies and lemonade and soda these past few weeks, so my kids decided that they wanted to get in on the action.  So we were up late last night baking, and then up early this morning getting their goodies all prettied-up for selling.

And these cookies.  Ohhhh these blasted cookies.  Let me tell you, they taste a lot better than they look!  I bought some petite mint candies to use for something else, but they melted in the car, and since they weren’t cheap I wanted to make sure I used them.  So I mixed them in to a sugar cookie dough and the colors blended and the dough was gray – gah!  So I added a bunch of neon pink food coloring and went with it.  And then tied them off with some green apple Divine Twine.

Roses from the front of my house.  It’s all about presentation, people 😉

That spring banner was gonna go in the trash soon, so I let the kids take it to pretty up their stand.

Who wouldn’t want to buy sweets from a kid wearing this shirt?

Have a great day!
