Posted by Michelle on November 27th, 2013 . Filed under: Cards, Get Well, Pink Paislee .It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and I am home with the littles. We have a to-do list a mile long. Top of the list though? Taking the littles to see uncle Joe. Remember I told you about my uncle Joe when he moved here over a year ago? He had colon cancer that spread to his lungs. He’s done the chemo. About 4 months ago they told him there was nothing more they could do, and they gave him 8-12 months to live. He has rapidly declined in the last couple of weeks, and according to hospice, and all the literature, it appears that he has taken a step in the next phase which is 1-3 months. So, while he still recognizes people, I’m taking the kids over for a visit. I’m going to have to sit them down before we go and explain the process, and where he is in it all. Difficult conversation, for sure. This is going to be their first experience with death. But I suppose it’s all part of the circle of life which they are inevitably going to have to learn about. So there’s that.

Morning Michelle, Hope the visit with Uncle Joe is a nice one for all. I am sure he will love seeing you all! Terminal illness is so hard for all! Sending you all good thoughts and prayers.
