Tea Party Banners.
Posted by Michelle on June 24th, 2014 . Filed under: Banners, Birthday .While the California grandma was in town, we hosted a tea party for her birthday, the other grandma’s birthday, and my daughter’s birthday (their birthdays are all in within a 6-day period). And just like for my daughter’s birthday earlier in the week, I wanted to make some fun banners.
And again I enlisted the help of my kids to get them done. They did all the punching for me.
I had all sorts of pretty bits to work with: silver stars, gold hearts, gold hearts, gold doilies, white doilies, white tickets, and I even cut strips of some fabric that I bought in Mexico a few years ago.
And then I just started feeding things through the sewing machine and making my banners.
I covered the hutch with a pink Damask tablecloth and then hung the banners across it as the backdrop for our tea table.
And here are just a few pictures from our tea party.
I got these little glass tea sets on Ebay about 15 years ago. This is only the second time I’ve used them, but oh-so perfect for the occasion. And I tucked a silver doily right under the dish centered under the tea cup.
I printed out images that I found on Pinterest and framed them for some extra cheap (free) decoration.
That mini champagne came in a Christmas basket years ago and it’s been sitting in the refrigerator, so I thought what the heck, let’s decorate with it too.
And why don’t we have cucumber sandwiches more often? They were delightful!
Tea, a cupcake, French macarons, sugared strawberries, chocolate covered bananas, shortbread, a cake pop, and cream puffs.
Oh was it ever delicious!
