Tissue paper garland.

I’ve got another lil’ project to share with you that I had up on the Hazel & Ruby blog recently.

Ever since my kids were born, I’ve always done two things for their birthdays: made their birthday cakes, and made invitations or party favors or decor or place cards, some element of the birthday celebration. It’s a tradition that I love, and one that I know they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. My son still recalls “that one time when mom made me a black NASCAR cake.” There’s more to that story, but let’s focus on what’s important. I just love Hazel & Ruby’s tagline “live handmade” and I really try to do that and share that passion with so many people as often as I can. Maybe papercrafts aren’t your thing, maybe you sew, maybe you bake, or you can fruits & veggies, or you write poetry – all those things are what it’s about: living handmade.
