Friday Night Savings.

Happy Weekend, y’all!

I thought I’d pop in today with a little Friday night save.
We have a road trip coming up for Spring Break and we’re going to need some provisions.  We keep our expenses down on our road trips by bringing lots of snacks and food for the road.  Some healthy, some not.  But hey, if my kids are going to be in the car for over 30 hours, I’m down with cookies to keep ’em quiet.

Walgreens has a reward program where you earn points when you buy certain promo items, and you always get points for prescriptions.  I’ve accumulated $20 and stopped there last night on my way home from work to cash it out and get sandwich baggies because they were on sale for 99-cents (we needed them) and then was going to use the rest of the money to get stuff for the trip.

99-cent sandwich baggies, 88-cent cookies, $1 sugar-free drinks to add to water, 99-cent Pringles, 69-cent cheese and sausage, $1 cheese & breadsticks, 15-cent Cajun snack mix, 29-cent raisin & cranberry mix, 19-cent Slim Jims, and 39-cent Maria’s cookies.

I also found these Warheads which were a pack of 10 for 69-cents, and the Smarties for 49-cents and I’m going to use those to put in to party bags for my daughter’s birthday in June.  Everything in the top picture, plus the candy below cost me a total of $3.80 – mostly the tax.

Redbox had a promo code yesterday and it was good for 5 free movie rentals.  We all watched 99 Homes last night, then my son watched Everest in his room while the husband and I watched Straight Outta Compton.  We have 2 movies to watch today.

Did you know there are coupons out there for medications?  I’m on 3 maintenance medications for my Thyroid Cancer, and other medications for random problems that come up (it happens when you’re old and fat) and every time I am prescribed something new, I google the prescription name with “coupon” and see if there’s anything out there.  One of these prescriptions I paid my $15 co-pay for and the other was free.  I registered with the manufacturer and they sent me a card to use and I get it free; the retail price was $438.99!

Have a great weekend!
It’s raining today, and we have baseball tryouts for the boy, opening day of spring soccer for the girl, and a hockey game to go to tonight.
