Happy Halfway-There Day, Girls!

First off – thanks so much for the birthday wishes and the comments on the new blog.  And now that I’m 40, I can offer words of wisdom and not feel/seem like a know-it-all.  So I’ll share one with you today:  do not choose to have dental work done on your birthday (or any other special day for that matter).  I was at the dentist for 3 hours and even though they sang to me, gave me a card and a 3 Muskateers bar (ensuring subsequent visits – LOL), I was in pain and miserable the entire rest of the day.  It was pitiful.  I got some handmade cards from my kids – my daughter gave me (4) dimes and my son gave me (4) quarters…probably from my purse – LOL – my husband got me a camera case and a memory card for my new camera that I bought myself recently, my friend Heather sent me enough socks to last me ’til the next milestone year, Lorraine in Hawaii!!! sent me a beautiful card and a BasicGrey Jovial paper pad, and Karen in NY sent me a sweet card too.  My mom said something is coming in the mail for me….and my staff had a little cupcake and Coke party for me on Monday.  So yeah, not so bad after all….that is until I decided to play with my blog and deleted the sidebar and a top tab – LOL – my designer is working on that and I hope it’ll be done soon because I am such a lamer….

OK – so today’s post – don’t be fooled:  the title has nothing to do with me.  Really, it doesn’t.
It’s all about this sweet sweet lady named Michelle Offenberger who owns a great little online scrapbooking shop called Michelle’s Scrapbooking & More.

Michelle was kind enough to invite me to be on her design team and here I am with my first post for Michelle’s Scrap.  I’m starting off with some Christmas packaging.  Remember how yesterday was my birthday?  Well my rule is to have all the Christmas presents bought on or by my birthday and then October 6th officially starts the wrapping season.  Fun times.  Then I get it all done by Thanksgiving and I just sit back and relax and enjoy the holiday season.

I am all about the handmade packaging.  But I am also all about the handmade packaging that doesn’t take forever and a day to create.  So I made some scrappy lil’ bags made with the same basic items and then whatever bits of this-and-that I had laying around on my craft table.  I made little tags out of Little Yellow Bicycle’s Christmas Delight patterned paper which is double-sided, so then I punched a button border out of the coordinating back side of the paper with this smokin’ hot EK Success Button Chain Punch; is that not the coolest punch like in the history of everness??!  You’ll also notice on my last 2 bags that I’ve got some red tulle on there – Candy Apple tulle from Bazzill; yum!

The little white bags can be found in my shoppe.  They’re cheap, they’re simple, they’re fun, and they’re functional; 20 bags for $1.90.

I’m off to break out my NSYNC Christmas CD!

Whoa, too many things to comment on in your post. Sorry you were in pain most of yesterday (and I think it’s evil your dentist gave you a candy bar after, lol). And 4 dimes & 4 quarters…probably from my purse… That cracks me up! Well, at least they made cards for you. And all gifts bought for Xmas already and wrapping by Thanksgiving? Yer crazy! Congrats on the DT position! And your packaging creations are gorgeous – esp love the colors, doilies, tulle, button punch and little dress.

Sounds like the b-day wasn’t a total bust. 😀 Maybe you can do some more celebrating this weekend when you’re feeling better. BTW, now I know what to get you for your 50th – LOL – but that still leaves the 9 years in between.
Those bags are fabulous. I’m almost done w/the shopping, but haven’t even thought about wrapping. Way to go.

Happy Belated Birthday, sorry I missed that. Ahh 40, that was a hard one for me, but then I have been 40 for the last 5 birthdays, so I must have liked it a little!! LOL!
Your projects came out wonderful! I may have to break open one of those button punches myself, I have had my eye on it!
