Made it to Santa Fe.

Another day of driving yesterday – did the 10 hours from Vegas to Santa Fe with a stop at Hoover Dam so the kids could see that. They’re building a new bridge there which was pretty interesting actually. The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful – although going 93 in a severely windy duststorm made me feel kinda NASCARish {goooooooooooo Casey – I missed the race and didn’t get to say that}. Oh and there was this stretch of dead coyotes all along the interstate…like every few feet another dead coyote…odd….and gross.

Got to our hotel and then had dinner at the Flying Tortilla. Know what a sopaipilla is? Sopaipillas are basically the dough used to make flour tortillas…you roll out a flour tortilla and then cut it in half and deep fry it. FRIED DOUGH is good stuff – LOL That was the only sinful thing I had, so, not too terrible.

This morning we are meeting my prima and her daughters at the Aquarium in Albuquerque and going there and then to the Botanical Gardens; fun times.

Here’s to a great start to your week!

Sopaipillas ie: indian fry bread or doughgots… I think every culture has some way to take raw dough and make fried goodness… top that with taco fillings and the heavens open up

Sounds like the vacay is off to a great start. Hate those crazy winds, but that is my new world. It sucks! What’s up w/the dead coyotes? Hope it’s not an omen or something.
