Another special one.
Posted by Michelle on April 30th, 2009 . Filed under: Uncategorized .So I started working on a couple of new cards yesterday to kick off a new series – to replace our beloved umbrellas *wink*
But as I was sitting at my craft table last night thinking about the events of yesterday, I felt compelled to make this card instead.
*tears – for real* I took my baby girl to kindergarten orientation yesterday. {sigh} – – my baby girl is going to be starting kindergarten in the fall. I am so blessed to have a son and a daughter – the best of both worlds…but if you have a daughter, I know you’re feelin’ me. They are your little best friend. They go shopping with you, they ask you girly questions, they try on your shoes, and sometimes if you’re lucky, out of nowhere they’ll hold your hand. She was trying so hard to be a big girl as we toured her big brother’s school, so she would go back and forth between dropping my hand and holding on to it tightly as if to never want to let go – – truth be told: I didn’t want to let go either. I’m going to give this card to my little one – and I do call her that. I say things to her like “…and who’s talkin’ to you, little one?” – she smiles.
A little emo, but from the heart – for my baby girl who is growing up too fast for her mommy….who wants her to stay a baby forever.

I feel your pain….I too have a boy and girl. My girl is turning 14 this Saturday….it is so bittersweet. I guess that’s why you just have to enjoy each and every day! Your card is just adorable!!!!

The card is precious. And your post has brought tears to my eyes. I have 22 YO DS, 21 YO DD, and 16 YO DS. DD is my “baby girl” still. and I call her that! π Enjoy this time…my girl is in College, 200 miles away! π But the plus side she calls her mommy at least every day! π

I absolutely LOVE IT Michelle. We too, have a boy and a girl. Our son starts kindergarten this fall. There is something special about that little girl isn’t there.

What a sweet story and very sweet card too. Good luck to your daughter as she starts a whole new phase.

Your card is so sweet. I hope she just loves it. My baby girl is going to kindergarten when school starts again, too! Yesterday she was spelling her name for her big brother and he was cheering her on, it was one of those sweet moments. Anyway, she will treasure this card, I’m sure, and she’ll try on your shoes forever, that’s the plus side π

That card is adorable! The pattern and colors look like a homemade outfit my mom’s friend made me when I was little. I can’t believe my only goddaughter is starting Kindergarten. K in K – so hard to fathom. I have a book to send her for the big day, but I didn’t write it myself. LOL

My baby girl turned 14 yesterday and we hold hands in public, snuggle in front of her friends and craft together. I hope she stays your best friend like mine has.

I have a “little one” too and they grow so fast, but there is nothing like a daughter, sons grow and leave you (mine is 16 and is halfway out the door already, I know my little J will be with me as long as she can. Little girls are definitely heaven sent π Oh and LOVE LOVE LOVE the card!

Love the playful colors on this card…I feel yah, sistah! My son is starting kindergarten in the fall and I will miss him so much. But I will have some time bond with my daughter before she starts going to school. They grow up so fast!

My “little one” turns 22 this year….I see her lots though and she talks to me every day on the phone as well….so I haven’t lost her. She DID NOT do the shopping thing with me though…I tell her now that I was severely ripped off with the girlie aspect of things….she was the world’s worst tomboy!
