Adventures in Couponing.

Oh man, what a slacker am I.  Nothing crafty to share, and an end-of-day Sunday Adventures in Couponing post.  I’m back at work, soccer season has started, school starts on Tuesday – just trying to get back in to my routine so bear with me just a lil’ bit longer.

Alrighty, up first is a little Albertsons action from the last sale.  Which means I don’t have the specifics on how it happened.  I vaguely remember that it was part of a spend x and get x back and when I added in coupons, they were free.  Salad dressing is one of those things that I never pay for – ever.  The Duncan Hines glazes were on sale for $2.49, doubled $1 and they were 49-cents each.

Now this dressing I do recall because we just got it today.  Ken’s dressing is on sale for 99-cents this week.  I have coupons for $1-off so these were all free.  The Ortega taco shells are on sale for $2.39 and with double coupons today, tomorrow and Tuesday, these were 39-cents.  Notice there is a peelie on that box.  Love me some peelies.  It’s $1-off-2 so if I wanted to get 2 more boxes it would be $2.39 x 2 = $4.78 – $2 (the peelie doubled) = $2.78 so $1.39 a per box.  I think that is a pretty decent price actually so I might go back and get them.

Bugles and beer.  My husband actually did the Albertsons coupon run today.  The Bugles are on sale 10 for $10 – so $1 each.  I have 50-cents-off coupons that we doubled making these free.  The beer was $4.99.  So the total should be the $4.99 plus tax since the Bugles were free.  The total came out to $2.95?  Uh….?  He’s all smug thinking he’s a better couponer than me.  But when I looked at the receipt I see that the cashier doubled some of the coupons for $1 instead of 50-cents so that overage went towards the beer.
In any event, beer & Bugles for $2.95.

We went to the Walmart today too.  Walmart on a Sunday is like a circus.  I say it all the time but this is the best place for those coupons that say “on any….” because they have that trial size section.  Target has it too and some people are able to score at their Targets.  I however am not because my monster of a Target store manager tells me that it’s not allowed.  I called Target corporate however and they said that it is.  He told me and them to stuff it.  So, what are ya’ gonna do?  Head on down to the Walmart, that’s what.  So these lil’ Febreeze’s were $1.97, I had $1-off coupons and got them for 97-cents each.  A little much for a trial size thing and something I don’t use but I thought I’d put them in my mother-in-law’s Christmas stocking because they travel the country in their RV.  The Bengay was $4.72 and I had $5-off coupons so I got these free plus the 28-cents overage went towards the rest of my order.  The Degree was 97-cents, with 75-cents-off coupons these were 22-cents each.  And the little first aid kids – love these.  97-cents each, I had coupons for $1.50-off-2 which made these 22-cents each.

No one in our family has to drink soy milk – but my daughter actually likes it.  These were $2 and change, I had $2-off coupons so I got them for like 50-cents each or so.  There was a coupon in the Sunday paper last weekend for a free Oikos yogurt.  I get 10 newspapers delivered to me every Sunday so I got 10 of these coupons which got me 10 free yogurts.

I have told my family that there is no reason for any of them to be running around with stinky armpits.
The full-size Suave and the travel-size Degree were 97-cents each.
I had 75-cents-off coupons which made these 22-cents each.

The Kleenexes were $2.26 each, I had coupons for $1-off-2 that I combined with left over Albertsons doublers that Walmart accepts to be competitive, and got these for $1.26 each.  The little Cascade packs were 97-cents each and I used a $1-off any Cascade product to score these for free plus 3-cents each of overage going towards the rest of my order.

Here’s a couple of moneymakers from Walgreen’s.  The Dove was $1.99 per bar, buy 3 = $5.97.  An in-ad coupon/sale took off $3 total which took the price down to $2.97 for the 3.  Paid that, and then a $6 Register Rewards printed out.  That’s a $3.03 moneymaker.  Did that twice.  And then this fish oil was $10, get a $10 RR back.  I had $2-off coupons that had me paying $8 and getting $10 back.  That’s a $2 moneymaker.

Hope your new week starts off super fabby!

Once again, LOVE! I just love reading about this, don’t know why as I am too lazy to bring a coupon to the store or even cut one out, but I love reading about yours! LOL Also soccer season here too, wow it makes your weekends get used up quick!

I’m constantly amazed at how much couponing can save you. Not as good here, I’m afraid – we’re lucky if we get a dollar or two off. Time for a couponing revolution maybe?

These coupons posts – which I find strangely intruiging- make me whiney that we don’t have things like that up here ! I religiously clip, and get online coupons as well but sometimes feel like it’s a waste of time for a few dollars off each month…oh well ill just live vicariously through you….
