Boo to You!

Sooo much to do today — going to the BSU football game, then the fam is coming over for a lil’ party, and then of course taking the kids out for a little trick-or-treating. They got so much candy at my office Halloween thing so they’ll probably only end up going around the block here instead of being out for hours.
Before I forget, I have to tell you what happened at my daughter’s Halloween party at school. So I was waiting for the room mom to call me and no one ever did. So, since the room mom for my son’s class called and I was already making goodie bags, I just went ahead and made them for K’s class too. I get to the class for the party and I set my box down. I see this lady kinda setting things out and I ask if she knows who the room mom is. She says “well, I’M in charge of this party.” And I’m like “oh, OK, because I was waiting for someone to call and no one did and…” and she says “right. That’s because I’M IN CHARGE OF THIS PARTY” Whoa. So I say “oh OK, well I brought goodie bags….” she says “GOODIE BAGS?? – we don’t NEED goodie bags. We are having a SMALL party and we don’t need THAT STUFF.”
Danni suggested I send her a thank-you card to show her how kindness works – – and also make her a goodie bag – ha!
Today I’m sharing a lil’ card and matching treat I made for my kids. No stamping, just super quick, easy and cute enough.
I had some odd-size scraps of some linen vellum cardstock, so I made those into some shorter cards. I also used scraps I had of My Mind’s Eye’s Boo to You! paper and used the title from the edge of the paper to serve as my sentiment.
I used a Martha Stewart BOO punch on some coordinating MME paper and tied it around some orange Pixy Stix with some ribbon and crochet thread and I was good to go.
And here’s my lil’ set of 2 cards and 2 treats. It doesn’t have to take hours or cost you a lot of money to do a lil’ sum-sum for the kiddies!

School politics is insane. I signed up to be room mom for Olivia. I keep trying to ask the teacher what I can do, what's going on – and I keep getting brushed off. I found out there are two other moms who really wanted to be room mom, and have just kind of taken over all the activities. It's nice there are people that want to help, I just don't know why they have to be so underhanded and shut me out completely. Now I have no idea what's happening in the classroom and feel like a terrible room mom.

Wow, sounds like someone's undies are in a wad. ITA with Danni, you should send her a thank you card AND some sort of goodie. Total rudeness on her part!

These are awesome Michelle. I bet the kiddos will love them. You do have a jam-packed day ahead of you! That room mother just sounds awful. I'm sorry for your horrible experience.
