I was fortunate enough to receive a free copy of The True Story of Puss ‘n Boots to review.
I just received it, but I guess the movie actually came out 2 years ago so you can go rent it at Redbox right now.  I feel kinda bad about saying this, but the movie was, uh, no bueno.  You can view a short clip of the movie here.

The movie is about “a young farmer’s son who inherits a strange talking cat with magical boots.  With his cunning wit, Puss helps him win the heart of the Princess while battling devious suitors that are after the throne.”  The excitement of the movie pretty much starts and stops there.  I guess in movies these days I want state of the art animation and imagery and songs that you can sing along to because they are on the charts now – or will be from the movie soon, that kind of a thing.  But this rendition really fell flat.  I mean really flat.  It’s like it was made from a low-budget studio or something.
Oh!  William Shatner was in it – that was oddly cool.  And I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you about the princess.  She ain’t no ordinary princess.  They shoulda called her Princess Dolly – as in Dolly Parton.  Holy hat she had porn-knockers…and they like focused on it…in a kid movie!

In short, I’m glad I didn’t pay for this movie.  It might not be bad for an older kid like 8-10 if you paid the $1 Redbox rental.  But other than that, meh.
