Happy New Year!

I always say the same thing on New Year’s – something one of my uncles said when he was totally intoxicated many years ago, but it actually made sense: may your best of 2011 be your worst of 2012.  See – makes sense, right?
Last night we were hanging out having our little party here at the house and my mom mentioned that Target went to 70%-off on their Christmas clearance.  We all put on our tiaras and tinsel leis (my husband and son included) and we were shopping Target at 10pm – hilarious the looks we got!!  After that, we were outside braving the cold and doing fireworks until 2am.  Insane.  And then I was up this morning at 4am as there were 4 coupon inserts in today’s newspaper.  Times that by my 10 newspapers and that’s 40 coupon packs that I had to go through and cut up….in addition to 10 Albertsons doublers sheets.  My mom is coming with my daughter and I to coupon this morning to see how we do it.  This ought to be interesting.  She’s going to get bored and tired waiting while I do all my transactions – bet me!
Anywho – let’s get to this week’s saves.

Double coupons at Albertsons this particular week.  Arrowhead waters were $2, doubled $1 and they were free.  Mountain Dews and Minute Maid 2-liters were all free after coupons and doublers.  And then these Mt. Olive peppers were $1.09 after coupons and doublers.  I picked these up for a Christmas gift for my uncle because there are some folks that are just so hard to buy for.  I knew he’d love these, so it was a $3.27 gift for him – cheap and well-received.  I like.

Brawny paper towels were free after coupons and doublers.  The Clorox 2 detergent was $6.99, on clearance for $3.49, I had coupons for $1.50 off which made these $1.99 each which is my buy-price for name-brand laundry detergent.  And the Reynolds papers were free too – doubling a $ off ANY Reynolds product coupon.

More freeness.  The Bisquick and Texas Toast croutons were 99-cents, doubled 50-cents and they were free.  The Smuckers jams were $1.99, doubled $1 and free too.

Nothing makes me happier than an unplanned score at the store.  Ohhhhhhh I get so excited!, if you only knew – LOL!  There were coupons at the store for $ off Taco Bell products.  They were near the salsas and taco shells.  But the canned beans were on sale for 99-cents and covered under the coupon, so I doubled $1-off-2 and got 18 cans for free.  I would have gotten more but that’s all the coupons they had.  The manager went and checked for me to see if they had more coupons and he had some but they were only good on salsa which would have made them a good deal, but I was looking for the great deal 😉

Then we headed on down to the Walmart.  Lady products were 94-cents, I doubled 50-cents off any Carefree product and got these free for a donation item.  I like to stock up on these and make a big donation about once a year to the Women’s & Children’s Alliance downtown.  Although last year the lady was kinda rude when we dropped off our donation.  So I may be looking for a new place this year.  But I digress.  More free m&ms that went in to the stockings from Santa….and more free toothpaste – kinda goes hand-in-hand with candy 😉

C&H sugars were 68-cents each after coupons and doublers.

And what a boring week at Walgreens!  Oh this trip was sad.  Good, but sad.  The Bayer was a moneymaker.  They were 25% off, plus a $3 RR when you bought 2 of them, plus I used coupons, so I made about $1 each transaction….which I used to buy the Arizona iced teas that were on sale for 50-cents each.  My cousin’s teenage son lives up here (longggg story) and he likes these things so I picked them up for an extra Christmas gift for him too as teenage boys have got to be the hardest demographic to buy for – ever.

wow you did awesome this week! Your new year’s eve shopping trip sounds fun too, did you score any thing good at Target? I usually buy cards (I KNOW, but I hate making a million Christmas cards).
