The Friday 5.

Happy New Year!
As you are reading this, we are driving to St. George, Utah on the second leg of our trip down to Phoenix. A snowstorm came in yesterday and we had to beat it, so we left a day early and headed to Twin Falls, Idaho. We were in such a hurry to get out of town, my husband didn’t pack my jammies – gah! I can’t wait to have a sammie in St. George though. There’s this gas station, like a Flying J type place, and inside it there is a small Italian sammie shop and they have the bestest bread and it’s just really good eats.

Anywho – let’s get to the first Friday 5 of the new year.

Clean cards are not my style at all. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like them. I love looking at them. I find them to be – calming, fascinating, grounding. And Tina works this style in an incredibly artful way. Her blog is set up much like her cards – everything in its place, lots of white space, and just so…perfect.

Jenny’s Bake Shop has got a fantastic ETSY shop full of super sweet and colorful prints. I want to get one, but I don’t know where I would put it. I feel though like I need to have this.

In Sarah’s blog post she recommends adding strips of tissue or other paper that you cut to create a filler in your little package. I love that idea – it gives it a more finished, polished look as you see here with this fantastic New Year’s treat.

Love Me Do by My Mind’s Eye.

This is my first Valentine fave of the year. I love that it’s not pink. It still has red and hearts and love birds, but you can totally work it girly or masculine. The kit comes with some great diecuts as well – I can’t wait to show you all the things that I’ve made with this one kit!

Baskin-Robbins commercial.

A catchy little ditty – I sing it all the time – LOL

My uncle has this saying that he says every New Year’s Eve when he’s good and liquored up, and I’ll share it with you here: may your best of 2009 be your worst of 2010.

I love that cupcake print. So awesome. I might even make a card or layout using that for inspiration! I hope you got some fun new jammies since yours got left home.
