Adventures in Couponing.

Hello and welcome to another one of my Sunday coupon posts.  We’ve had a little bit of a dry spell here lately going three whole weeks with no double coupons, but they are back today so next week I’ll have whacks of deals to share with you.

But for today, I’ve got a little trip to Walgreens.  I had Register Rewards to use up, and nothing that I really use to spend them on, so I chose the pads and these Mentholatums to buy, earn RRs on, and go back and forth to end up with the same amount of money that I started with.  The Snickers eggs I had coupons for $1-off-2 and they were 39-cents each, so they were all free.  And the socks were my filler items, 64-cents each…Christmas presents for my father-in-law.  Yes, clearance socks from Walgreens for a Christmas present.

Next I’ve got a case of corn meal, a case of wheat germ, and 3 flats of veggies: all free.
I bought these with my Amazon gift cards that I earned via Swagbucks.

I use Swagbucks instead of Google to do all my internet searches and I earn Swagbucks.
Every time I hit 450, I cash in for a $5 Amazon gift card.

And then I use that $5 Amazon gift card to buy food.  I take advantage of the Subscribe & Save program, saving me 15% of the price, and then cancel after my first shipment.  So for example this morning I ordered these cheddar cheese noodles – great easy lunches for the kids when they are playing outside and running in and out of the house and want to grab & go – a pack of 12 for $3.88.  I will still have $1.12 left with Amazon to use another time.  Subscribe & Save items ship free too by the way.  So for searching the internet the way I normally would, I earned Swagbucks, which I cashed in for Amazon money and then bought food for my family with it.  Awesome.

I also sign up for every free item that’s out there.  Walmart, Target, Sam’s Club and Costco all do free samples on their websites often.  Just punch in your mailing info and wait for the free to roll in.

They pay the shipping, we just enjoy the samples.  Like this one.
And sometimes they come with coupons too.

Cappuccino, Keurig and Kleenex.  I don’t even have a Keurig, but when I am looking for little things to put in treat bags for friends and family, stuff like this comes in handy.

We don’t have a dog either.  My aunt does though, and my kids love that dog, so they like going over there and taking him treats.  The freer, the better.

I also sign up for the Read it Forward program, and am on a list to preview movies so I get free books and movies.  Books make great gifts for those people on your list who have everything, and the movies we take with us in the trailer for the kids to watch at night.

Impressive! I tried using swagbucks, but never could stick to it. I thought of you today when I hauled my butt over to the grocery store (I usually shop on Mondays) so I could use my 10$ off coupon. (It expired today!)
