The best meal I ever ate.
Posted by Michelle on June 22nd, 2011 . Filed under: Personal .I don’t want to mention my busted knee or my surgery every. single. day. because then it’ll seem like I’m begging for attention. But I have to mention it here because as I write this I am sitting here watching the clock ’til it’s time to go to the hospital and you know that whole can’t-eat-after-midnight thing? Well I’m starving. Thinking about food. So I thought what better time to edit some food pictures from our cruise that we took in April? A little late, but the eye candy is quite fulfilling. If you ever take a Disney cruise, pay the $20 extra for you and your spouse/boyfriend/friend/girlfriend to dine at Palo. Trust me on this. You will thank me some day. Bon appetit!
6 different kinds of bread. Who knew bread could taste so good?
Pizza with shrimp and asparagus on it. Yeah.
The chef was trying this new appetizer and wanted ME to taste it.
I suppose the thinking was that fat people will try anything *giggles*
First time having potato gnocci. Heavier than I thought it would be – but it IS potatoes, duh.
Polenta covered with the most amazing mushroom cream sauce with mushrooms on the front and some cheese chip thing. Looks like a dessert, no?
A big braised beef something over some fluffy saffron rice. The best main course ever.
Panna cotta with a sorbet on top that had basil in it – that part was weird; but I love me some panna cotta.
Oh sweet zabaglione. Can’t get these just anywhere. I want to move to Northern Italy just for this.
Pistachio chocolate layer cake. Pretty…and just as tasty.
And the showstopper: chocolate souffle. With vanilla bean and chocolate sauce. Stop it, stop it now.

Oh yes… PALO is most definitely worth the extra $$. The chocolate souffle alone is probably worth it!
Good luck with the surgery!

Michelle,
Good for you for taking your mind off of what is coming up and our minds off of our own rather ordinary dinner plans! Good luck, girl. Prayers for your surgery and for a very speedy recovery.
