Not me at all.

So this week the challenge on the CARDs blog was to create a simple, colorful, collagey card. I knew from the get-go that I was a goner. That is so not me. But hey, I’m a team player, I can try a challenge because you know, that which does not kill us makes us stronger and all that, right? And I could possibly learn something. I’ll tell you what I learned: simple is not me. Rather, I didn’t learn that, I was further reminded that simple is not me.
Honestly, these cards took me all week to make. At lunch and at night. Driving myself crazy. Sweating with anxiety. Seriously. These cards made me hate papercrafting. I didn’t want to go near my craft table. I was getting depressed. Man, it’s been a rough week all in the name of simple, colorful and collagey. Collagey – – isn’t that a cute maybe-not-a-real-word word?
This first card features the new Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg papers and chipboard along with Papertrey Ink cardstock, button, sentiment and ink.

I like this second one better – though it’s still not workin’ for me it’s the lesser of 2 evils. Cardstock, ribbon and button by Papertrey Ink, patterned paper from Fancy Pants’ Christmas Magic line and Prima bling; berries are from my new favorite store that I am going to do a blog post on soon!

Last night we had great plans but it started raining on us. So today we have soccer, then the rescheduled fun thing, then more soccer, then the BSU game at 10 o’clock tonight because they are playing in Hawaii. Long day. Oh yeah, so the fun thing is also not me at all, but it WILL be fun just the same. We are going POTATO DIGGING! Once the fields are done you can go and glean them for free. Free potatoes. You dig? *giggles*

Have a great day!

I was completely dumbfounded with the challenge as well. Nothing was coming to me! I think you did a nice job on both cards! I like those berries! Have fun potato diggin'!

Well, I do have to laugh that keeping it simple was making you "hate card making." That's about how I feel about having to add a lot of gobbledy-goop! HA! I think you should give yourself more credit, though. I like the little teacher balloon card.

And have fun getting FREE potatoes!

Well I have to agree w/you about your cards 'cause nothing about you is simple. ;D I do love the "Christmas Magic" stamp, though.
Can't wait to see pics of potato digging.

Girl… isn't it great to learn who you are as a crafter? Great feeling huh? I have learned that the simple, clean and graphic cards, are NOT for me! You did a fab job stepping outside of your comfort zone though. 🙂 Hope your weekend is swell!
