Money-Saving Monday.

Hello and welcome to another installment of Money-Saving Mondays.
If you are a regular here on the blog, you know that I do the Swagbucks thing where I earn a $5 Amazon.com gift card every week.  In turn I use these gift cards to buy Christmas gifts, and foodstuff for my stockpile.  Money-Saving Mondays mostly revolve around Amazon.com as I take advantage of their free shipping via Amazon Prime.  You can get a free 30-day trial of free 2-day shipping.  So you can stock up and get a lot done in this first month and then cancel before your subscription expires.  Or, you can decide to pay the annual fee of $79 and just have this be your all-the-time shipping method (totally worth it IMO).  Subscribe & save items always ship free however, so most of the food you can buy in bulk and get it shipped for the one price.

We’re goin’ a little ethnic this week, so let’s get to it.

If you can’t make mole from scratch like my Yaya always did, Dona Maria’s is the next best thing.
And only $5.05 for 9 little cartons!

You get 9 cartons for $5.05 by hitting the subscribe & save option to get the lowest price.  Don’t be scared, I do this all the time, I swear.  You mark subscribe & save, you get the lowest price, and then after it ships, you go back in to your account and you cancel your subscription.  It’s one of those no-obligation/cancel-at-any-time things that is offered so take advantage and get you some foodstuff on the cheap.

Nothing says winter like a big bowl of fideo.  Fideo is like a Mexican tomato-based pasta soup.  It’s super easy to make.  And it really hits the spot.  20 packs for $8.18 (subscribe & save) is only 41-cents a pack and I’m pretty sure these are about $1 at my grocery stores.

Cornbread with jalapenos?  My husband would love this stuff.  The rest of the family?  Not so much.
6 boxes for $11.02 (subscribe & save).

Raise your hand if you know what Maizena is.  Hmmm….I don’t see any hands.  Well Maizena takes me back to childhood.  It’s like a thick, sweet, warm, milky breakfast drink.  And it’s sum good.
You can get 48 packs of it for $12.14 (subscribe & save) – I’m down!

There’s also clearance on fancy-schmancy girl’s dresses going on now.  I buy a lot of my kids’ clothes from online clearance….I just tend to buy bigger instead of smaller so that if it runs small, they can grow in to it instead of having to deal with returns and all that.

Just a reminder that Amazon prices tend to change for no apparent reason and in no defined timeframe.  So if you’re interested in something, snatch it up while it’s at a good price.  And if you have any questions, just shoot me an e-mail (link on the sidebar).
