Baby Shower gifts.

Happy Monday!  While I am really not a fan of Mondays, I will say that I am super happy that a new week is here and that the last one is in the books.  *whew*  My daughter and I went to a baby shower on Saturday.  I’ve said it before, but it seems like no one actually wraps presents anymore.  All you ever see on party gift tables are gift bags.  It makes me think that people just stop at Target on the way to the party, pick up the gift and a gift bag, and away they go.  Nothing wrong with that, I reckon – I certainly take shortcuts with cooking *giggles* but because I am the crafty kind it sorta bugs me.  So I like to do something special with my gift wrapping – at the very least box/wrapping paper/bow.

For this particular gift though (a bag full of 4 boxes of Desitin that I got couponing ;)), I took one of my kraft window coffee bags, covered it with some Dear Lizzy Neopolitan patterned paper from American Crafts and then embellished it with coordinating stickers and pretty bits and tied it off with some yummy gray satin ribbon.

Jars are the new “it” thing, and I sorta fancy them myself.  I cut this one out of a large sheet of jar patterned paper, adhered it with dimensional adhesive and then added some stickers from that same Dear Lizzy collection and topped it with a pretty vintage button from A Million Memories.

I finished off the bottom of my bag with a fun border and then some pretty pretty white messy eyelet trim.

I also bought the baby a little outfit.  I wanted to wrap it in some kraft paper, but apparently I ran out at Christmas.  So I went with tissue paper.  On its own, it looks horrible.  I even ripped a hole in it because tissue is so fragile that way.

I covered the entire face of the package with this breathtaking white rag organza flower trim from AMM.
Gosh I love this stuff.

I topped off my gift with a little taggie made with the same Dear Lizzy elements used on the first gift.

Very cute! I was just looking at the jar paper at my LSS yesterday. I love to wrap gifts up fancy but I have also been guilty of stopping at Target on my way to the party, LOL

Wow, you really went to town on this gorgeous present and I bet she loved it more that all the shopbought gift bags. I love the flower trim. I was looking through your amazing bargains whith the coupon savings. I wish we could get couponing like this in the UK.

Your gift wrapping is always gorgeous – and these are no exception! Beautiful! Yup, the weather here has been weird and crappy lately. Rainy, windy, hail in some places (?!), and vog (volcano smog carried over from the outer islands). Hopefully it will be fine when you visit. Let me know if you still want me to search for luau tickets or if you want to meet up one day. It’s been a nightmare at work this year so far, but hoping it gets better…lol.
