7 GOALS FOR 2019 – WEEK 4 OF 52

Hey hey, I’m back today with an update on my goals for the year.

So let’s get right to it, shall we?

1 – Lose 100 pounds.

Best. Week. Yet. (In terms of pounds.)  Monday was a holiday, and we went to the Chinese buffet.  That’s all I’m going to say about that.  I did well the rest of the week at work … until Friday afternoon.  There were donuts in the kitchen – and I sit near the kitchen.  I was pretty proud of myself walking by them all day and just looking away.  But then it was 3:30.  And they were still there.  Whyyyyy?  So, yeah; I totally gave in.  And had more than 1 donut.  Saturday was a repeat of last Saturday, but a little better.  We hosted family dinner again.  I did well at breakfast, and at lunch.  I only had 1 dipped chip, and 1 dipped cracker – so I was good on the appetizers.  I started to veer at dinner having a roll and some ice cream soda punch.  And dessert – a small piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream and ice cream.  Some things I shouldn’t have had, but not too much, and I think if you are too restrictive, you won’t stick to it.  My net loss for the week was 6.1 pounds.

Only 86.5 pounds to go!

2 – Read 4 books.

I finished Jillian Michaels’ Winning by Losing this week.  Next up is In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume.

1 down, 3 to go!

3 – Canning.

This is going to have to wait until we plan the garden, plant the garden, and begin to harvest.  I suppose some fruit (or veg) could go on sale before then and I could make something to can earlier than I had anticipated.

4 – Bake a pie from scratch.

Last week I decided that I want to make a pie for Valentine’s Day.  This week I decided I want to make two pies.  So two opportunities to work with homemade pie crust.  I’ll be making a chocolate pie of some sort, and a pineapple buttermilk pie.

5 – Save $1000 cash.

I found a quarter on my desk, and that was it.

Only $894.75 to go!

6 – Self-care.

My son and I went on a shopping spree – to the dollar store – LOL!  While there I decided that we’re going to throw a Valentine’s party and I bought the tablecloths, napkins, plates, etc. and am looking forward to planning that.  Being organized and knocking things off the to-do list makes me feel so good, accomplished.  I finally got all the Christmas wrapping stuff out of my craftroom (I was waiting for this year’s Christmas wrapping paper to arrive from Papyrus) and got much done on the Valentine list.  I also started a box for charitable donations, which included getting rid of about 5 pairs of shoes that I have never worn.

7 – Do something with the blog.

Well, hello again.

I’ll catch you here next Monday with this week’s update.

TTFN!
